Bonnie Schneider is an On-Camera Meteorologist appearing on the various media platforms of The Weather Channel, including Weather.com's digital and mobile content. Previously she worked for CNN & HLN. She is also an author.  Her non-fiction book, Extreme Weather, is now available at bookstores everywhere. Bonnie is the Extreme Weather Expert and Co-Executive Producer of the TV special, LAST HOUSE STANDING on the DIY Network. 

Bonnie covered Hurricane Sandy for Bloomberg TV live from their world headquarters in New York City. She also contributed to the network on additional stories as a Meteorologist and Special Correspondent, providing commentary and analysis on the economic impact of breaking science and weather news.

Prior to joining the Weather Channel and Weather.com in 2014, Bonnie worked at CNN Worldwide starting with the summer of 2005 and provided tropical updates in studio for the network’s domestic coverage of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma. In 2008, she contributed to CNN International's coverage of Cyclone Nargis as well as the deadly earthquake that struck China's Sichuan Province. In 2010, Bonnie provided updates for HLN and CNN throughout a record-breaking year of natural disasters in the United States including the Christmas Day Blizzard that paralyzed parts of the Northeast with 20+ inches of snow. Bonnie has additionally reported on weather-related topics for Open House and House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

Bonnie is the meteorologist for the #1 Nationally Syndicated Radio Show in its timeslot, Cumulus Media's Red Eye Radio. 

In local TV news, Bonnie worked for WLVI-TV in Boston, Massachusetts as a weekend meteorologist and special assignment reporter focusing on feature stories. She has previously held similar positions at WFOR-TV in Miami, Florida; News 12 Long Island in New York; WXII-TV in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana. While in New York, she filled in frequently as a meteorologist for the CBS television network's The Saturday Early Show.

Bonnie has been awarded the American Meteorological Society’s Seal of Approval for achieving the highest standard of excellence in both technical weather knowledge and communication skills. 

Bonnie is originally from Jericho, New York, and is a graduate of Boston University. In April of 2015, Bonnie was inducted into her high school Hall of Fame for her outstanding professional achievements. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
